We already know that Destiny grossed more than $325 million in the five days since its launch, but Sony revealed a few more details about how well the game is doing on PlayStation today. Sony's Adam Boyes, writing on the PlayStation Blog, revealed that the game is also officially "the biggest PS4 game launch in North America ever."
The PS4 is still less than a year old, and we have a holiday coming up that's going to be fairly crowded with AAA releases, but Boyes also added that "last week was [Sony's] single biggest PS4 hardware sales week since Christmas 2013." And not surprisingly, Destiny was the "most shared and most broadcasted PS4 game during its first week on sale."
We'll learn more about how Destiny's sales broke down and where most gamers are playing from the NPD sales charts next month, but it's probably a safe bet that it'll sit at number one for September.
And Bungie continues to support the game with continuing content as well. The first Raid mission kicked off today for players on level 26 and above, and an industrious team worked together to take it down after just over 10 hours.
