Delayed Battlefield 4 DLC launching today on Xbox One, PC players need to wait

Naval Strike expansion rolling out now for Battlefield Premium members on Xbox One; PC players have to wait until April.

Battlefield 4's Naval Strike DLC--which was expected to launch on March 25 but was delayed earlier this week--is rolling out now on Xbox One for Battlefield Premium members. Developer DICE announced the news in a blog post on the Battlefield Blog.

DICE delayed the Naval Strike DLC on Xbox One because it needed extra time to addresses animation system issues. The developer was originally targeting a new release date for early April, so its release today is actually ahead of schedule.

PC players aren't as fortunate. Naval Strike for PC remains delayed because the combination of the expansion's release and planned updates would "increase performance issues on mid-range to high-end PCs," DICE said in a statement. The developer is working to fix this issue now.

The Naval Strike DLC for Battlefield 4 introduces four new multiplayer maps, five new weapons, two gadgets, and a new hovercraft vehicle that can traverse both land and water. It also adds the Carrier Assault mode, which is an homage to Battlefield 2142's fan-favorite Titan mode.

So what's that bring the total cash outlay to for all current content -- $100? $120?

It's actually going to be legitimate news when BF4 is fully functional.

i seen ps4 stream of this dlc and holy jesus. how do people still play bf4? there is rubberbanding, lag, sound issues, netcode problems...the maps are great but bf4 is still very very broken. i even stopped seeing the stream because the rubberbanding and lag was so bad.

Xbox One rubber banding is awful and there are sound issues riding watercraft. Close to unplayable last night. I tried about 4 games and they're all the same. Can't express the disappointment and frustration with EA & DICE over this game. It has such great potential and has been plagued with one issue after another.

Have the fixed the shocking lagg and rubber-banding then? I heard that the 64 player maps were basically unplayable on the PS4.

lol we got it 3 days earlier (ps4). I thought microsoft had a "get dlc first on xbox one" policy or was that just for the first dlc?

at any rate, its a great dlc and xbox one fans should enjoy it since I have enjoyed it a lot.

@Razor10000  You have to pick a server with ping below 100ms.  Luckily, there are a lot of servers around me below 30 even.  It's easier to pick good servers this way on PC though.

@Karmazyn  Me too, I'm pissed!  It better not have been delayed because of those cannons!

@spartanx169x @Aaronp2k  man its great. especially carrier assault, simply genius game mode. It has hovercrafts man they are bad ass for running people over. carrier assualt is like conquest with a rush mode at the very end (and there is no attacking/defending team, instead both teams must attack and defend at the same time). You probz already knew this but on one of the maps there are old war cannons in a ruined fort and you can actually use them and fire cannonballs.

@spartanx169x @Aaronp2k  obliteration is kwl, my favs are rush, conquest, ctf and carrier assault. I think it is between ctf and carrier assualt which is my fav though. all good game modes though. defuse is quite an interesting game mode as well, I play it now and then.

@Aaronp2k Didn't know anything about it. I've got the game, but have not downloaded the DLC for that. My favorite mode is obliteration. Can't stop playing it.
