Saints Row and Metro publisher Deep Silver has a message for PC gamers: "We got your back." That's what the developer said today on Twitter, referencing a new interview CEO Dr. Klemens Kundratitz gave to Penny Arcade Report on the matter of PC piracy.

Kundratitz said many publishers shy away from launching the PC version of a game day-and-date with console not because developing for PC is difficult, but because they "fear the piracy issues."

He explained that Deep Silver has not contemplated creating its own DRM platform, like Origin from Electronic Arts or Ubisoft's Uplay. Ultimately, if Deep Silver can create compelling games, piracy won't matter, Kundratitz said.

"Uplay is not the way we want to approach things, definitely," he said. "I think we just need to make sure that the games we publish are worth the money, and certainly there is always this piracy situation that any publisher has. No publisher can tackle, really."

"In a business plan, we typically ignore [piracy]," Kundratitz added. "It's not something that is new; it's something that has been part of our business for decades. As a publisher you just live with it, yes?"

Deep Silver acquired the Saints Row franchise and developer Volition from THQ during the company's bankruptcy auction earlier this year. The company also scooped up the Metro franchise during the auction. Deep Silver's portfolio also includes franchises like Dead Island, Sacred, and Risen, among others.
