Ubi Soft has announced that it is now shipping Deathrow, a futuristic sports action game developed by Sweden-based studio SouthEnd Interactive. Deathrow mixes an original future sports concept with brutal melee fighting elements. It's possible to win matches by scoring goals or effectively attacking opponents. While only four players are on the field at a given time, players can come off the bench between quarters to replace injured comrades, so players will have to make a concerted effort if they wish to knock out the opposing team before the quarter ends.

There are 18 playable teams, some of which are better at scoring and some of which fare better in straight fighting. In the league mode, the teams can be customized and upgraded with credits earned from successful matches. While the game offers quite a few single-player options, the emphasis is on multiplayer action. The largest of the game's 15 arenas are specifically intended to be played in with human opponents. The game supports four-player split-screen play, and up to eight players can play when two Xboxes are connected together over a LAN. Deathrow does not feature Xbox Live support.
