The over-the-top action movie starring Ryan Reynolds as the "merc with a mouth" is projected to make as much as $70 million domestically over the weekend, the site reports. The movie may also benefit from the upcoming four-day weekend, as Monday, February 15 is a federal holiday with many workplaces and schools closed.

If it brings in $70 million, that would make it the second-biggest President's Day weekend opening in US history, only behind 2015's Fifty Shades of Grey, which took in $93 million.

Deadpool had a reported production budget of $58 million. A sequel is supposedly being planned, with Fox eager to keep the creative team together.
