You can also expect a shorter show and a better balance between announcements and award presentations.

This year's Video Game Awards take place two weeks from today, and now, producer Geoff Keighley has announced the event's two musical guests: Deadmau5 and the band Chvrches.

Both Deadmau5 and Chvrches have ties to gaming. Deadmau5 was featured in Activision's DJ Hero, while the members of Chvrches are described by Keighley as "huge gamers."

Last year's event featured a pretty incredible collaborative performance between iconic Nintendo composer Koji Kondo and the band Imagine Dragons. It will be hard to top, but Keighley teases that Deadmau5 has "something very special" lineup for his performance.

In other Game Awards news, Keighley has released a new video that explains how he's tweaking this year's show as a result of fan feedback from last year's inaugural event. Anyone who watched last year probably remembers that it was long, at almost three hours. This year, the runtime should be around two hours, Keighley said. He described the show as "tighter" but still having the "same amount of heart."

You can also expect a better balance of world premieres and actual award presentations. You can see the complete lineup of awards categories and nominees here.

The 2015 Game Awards take place on Thursday, December 3, starting at 6 PM PDT, and will be streamed live across a variety of digital channels. GameSpot will have all the news and trailers for you as they're released.
