DayZ sells 1M, Dean Hall says "so much for the death of PC gaming"
DayZ alpha still selling like hotcakes on Steam Early Access.
The DayZ alpha has reached another milestone: it has sold 1 million copies within four weeks of being released on Steam Early Access.
What does creator Dean Hall have to say about that? "So much for the death of PC gaming." Quite!
"This gives me mandate now to make all the crazy games I ever wanted," added Hall on Twitter, once again confirming that the current sales tally is "way, way beyond" what the studio expected.
Owners of the alpha version shouldn't be expecting it to reach beta anytime soon, however; Bohemia Interactive says it's unlikely we'll see a DayZ beta in 2014.
DayZ is currently the top-selling game on Steam, and has regularly held the spot since its release on Valve's digital store.
