THQ announced today that it will release its mission-based snowboarding game, Dark Summit, for the GameCube early next year. Dark Summit features an in-depth story for the game's main character, Naya. She will be asked to outrun ski patrol, jump gaps, and perform special maneuvers. There will be 45 objectives to complete overall including the ultimate goal of uncovering the mysteries of an unreachable summit.

"Nintendo GameCube will be a major focus for THQ in 2002," said Brian Farrell, chairman, president and CEO, THQ. "An original title such as Dark Summit, with its revolutionary game design, will be a welcome addition to the software library of the system's early adopters."
