Dark Souls III is just around the corner, but if that's not enough for you, then maybe a board game based on the notoriously challenging series will be. The Dark Souls board game hits Kickstarter this month.

Steamforged Games announced on its website that it has partnered with Bandai Namco Entertainment to launch the crowdfunding campaign and develop the board game.

"As Dark Souls fans, we could not be more excited to be given the honour of developing a board game that embraces everything that makes Dark Souls the deep, compelling game experience that it is," the board game developer said.

Steamforged has had experience with Kickstarter in the past. The tabletop maker held a campaign for its medieval football game, Guild Ball. The campaign was successful; it exceeded its £30,000 ($42,352.50) goal, raising a total of £93,691 ($132,268.27).

In related news, the designer of tabletop games based on Star Wars and XCOM: Enemy Unknown announced last month that they are working on a Bloodborne card game. It's described by the designer as "a card game based on the Chalice Dungeon runs, where players compete to kill monsters and take their blood."
