Bandai Namco Entertainment America has announced the launch date for its upcoming action role-playing game, Dark Souls III. The game is scheduled for release in North America, South America, Europe, Middle-East, Africa, and Australasia in April next year for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC (via Steam).

This is a little bit later than the Japan release date, which is currently scheduled for a March 24 release. The Japanese retail version of the game will also include a "specially designed map" and soundtrack.

Developer From Software previously announced a network test for the PS4 edition of Dark Souls III, which will be held October 16-18. Sign-ups are open now at this website and will be available through October 4.

Dark Souls III was first announced at E3 this year. It is being directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki, who created the Souls series and directed Bloodborne. For more on how Dark Souls III looks so far, check out our early impressions of the game.
