A new form of the famous Pokemon Mewtwo has been revealed.

As spotted by NeoGAF, a new video for the Japanese arcade version of fighting game Pokken Tournament reveals the character, who appears to be a boss. Dark Mewtwo battles Gengar in this video and is ultimately defeated. Watch the full video above, from YouTube account TrackerTDGaming.

What's unclear at the moment is whether or not Dark Mewtwo was created specifically for Pokken Tournament or if The Pokemon Company has any grander plans for the creature.

First revealed in 2014 for Japanese arcades, Pokken Tournament has since been confirmed to launch on Wii U in 2016. The game is in development at Tekken studio Bandai Namco.

Development on the project is being overseen by veteran producer Katsuhiro Harada, who says the goal for the game is for it to appeal to all Pokemon fans. "Whether you are a causal player, a regular player, or a hardcore player, anyone who likes Pokemon can have fun," Harada said.

Mewtwo is one of the best-known Pokemon characters out there. UFC fighter Ronda Rousey was recently asked if she would rather fight 100 Mewtwo-sized Mews or one Mew-sized Mewtwo.

"One Mew-sized Mewtwo, 'cuz everyone knows that even though Mewtwo has better stats than Mew, 100 Mews totally overcome that," she said in a Reddit AMA.
