Dark Age of Camelot mauled by minotaurs

EA Mythic celebrates fifth anniversary with seventh expansion pack, Labyrinth of the Minotaur; add-on includes new race, character class, and "single largest dungeon in any MMO."

Electronic Arts may have picked up Mythic Entertainment with an eye toward in-development projects like Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning, but the publisher isn't forgetting the developer's past success. EA today announced that it will ship the seventh expansion to Mythic's massively multiplayer online role-playing game Dark Age of Camelot later this year.

When it arrives, Labyrinth of the Minotaur will introduce the bullheaded hulking brutes as a playable race, along with the new "mauler" brawling class of characters with elemental powers. The expansion will also include new quests, mythical items, five new champion levels, and the titular Labyrinth, billed as "the largest single dungeon in any MMO."

@St_Jakhole... The Tauren race in WoW are NOT Minotaurs. Christ, do you think anything with a cow head is a minotaur? Check your facts and you'll find that Minotaurs have a human body with a bull's head and wandered the labyrinths in ancient Greece. The Tauren are pretty much bulls on legs...

Dark Age of Camelot was great once upon a time. Best concept ever designed. My personal all time favorite for its first two years, with more rewarding PvP and more teamwork than WoW. But Mythic butchered it for the sake of "lazy" gamers. Gamers too lazy to level, gamers too lazy to patrol the frontiers in small armies. Mythic would do best to remake the whole game following the pattern of their original design concepts. ...and going to EA for help? What has EA ever done for the online gaming world (besides throwing away Earth and Beyond rather than improving it)?

DAoC was such a fantastic game. To contrast: The first year of Dark Age of Camelot actually convinced me to lower my expectations for future MMORPGs. Once a game straight-up defines the greatest gaming experience of your life, it's really hard to expect ANYTHING to top it. That was my experience with DAoC. So far, nothing has even come close to the pure fun factor and excitement of old-school DAoC. Nothing. P.S. Don't bother playing this game now, its old and it essentially sucks by today's standards. :p Pick up WoW and its (forthcoming) expansion. MMORPGs simply do not age well, or rather, none have yet.

With Electronic Arts in the picture, expect $30 DAoC expansions every two to three months.

Mythic was working on Imperator for a long time, but they eventually cancelled it. I hope they learned a lot from that and make Warhammer superb!

Ah, Dark Age of Camelot...Still one of the best MMOs of all-time...But seven expansions? That seems a little much...They should just make a sequel. The game has been going for five years and think it's due. But it probably won't happen because Warhammer Online is going to be Mythic's main project.

Eh, Unlike Beth, Carrie has taste in games, Beth just reviews for GS for a job, she doesn't even play through some RPG's, she sucks.

Minotaurs would be fun, but can't u already play those in WoW?

DAoC was a wonderful (and revolutionary game). It was fun for the several years I played it, but ultimately the slowness of the grind, the lack of soloability past level 10 and the nerfing of Rangers forced me to move on.

Carrie says it's good, so i'll play WoW instead.

I wonder how much more will be added to Dark Age of Camelot. I think Minotaur's are a great add they are great creatures so will be cool to play as them.
