THQ has announced the release of Danger Girl for the Sony PlayStation. The third-person action-adventure game is based on the Danger Girl characters - Abbey Chase, Sydney Savage, and JC - who were originally created by J. Scott Campbell and Andy Hartnell. The game's story takes place between the time of the first and second comic book story arcs. It will provide fans with added collector's value in original artwork, sketches, and biographies of the characters written by the comic book's creators, as well as storyboards for the game and art for the packaging.

"The popularity of the Danger Girl franchise is phenomenal; the action figures and comic book continue to sell well, especially within our core demographic," said Peter Dille, vice president of marketing for THQ. "Fans of both the action-adventure genre and the comic book series can look forward to an exciting new spy adventure for the PlayStation game console just in time for the holidays."

"The contributions from the comic book's creators were invaluable to the game," said Erick S. Dyke, president of n-Space, the game's developer. "With the guidance of J. Scott Campbell and Andy Hartnell, n-Space was able to create a game that stays true to the spirit of the Danger Girl comic book."

Danger Girl for the PlayStation has been sent to distributors and will be available at retail sometime this week.
