Crysis developer's Warface hits open beta on Xbox 360

Warface open beta now open for all Xbox Live Gold subscribers as a free download.

Curious about what a free-to-play game from Crysis developer Crytek plays like? If so, you're in luck, as the beta for Warface is now open for all Xbox Live Gold subscribers as a free download. Crytek offered a limited beta for Warfare last month, but now it's open to all.

The Warface open beta download weighs in at 2.9GB and you can start your download from the Xbox Marketplace right here.

The open beta features three Versus modes set on several maps, as well as two co-op settings with multiple mission types and difficulty sliders. Microsoft, which is publishing the game, says there will be a "constant flow of new content, settings, and modes" throughout the game's life.

On top of that, Warface will add new missions on a daily basis made for beginners and experts alike, Microsoft said. You can help improve the final Warface experience by submitting feedback to feedbackwf360@crytek.com. New forums for the game are also going to soon come online at warface.xbox.com (not available yet).

I've hated every game I've ever played with your name on the box. I won't be doing it again!

Yeah sure why not? I'll give this a shot! Still would have been nice to put this on Xbox One and would make sense seeing as games like Warframe and War Thunder have done well on PS4, sign of FTP games done right in my opinion.

I wonder if theres any chance of them adding achievements too, don't get me wrong I'm not a cheevo nut and daily challenges will keep things fresh but would be nice to have something else to spur for. TBH though way too busy with Infamous SS and FFXHD at the moment, too many games to play! :p

Warf Ace looks cool for a free-to-play.  I just hope it is fun... I'll be the ace of the warf.

@Chatch09 I played 1 game and never touched it again.   It's just like PS4's Blacklight Retribution.  A $15 dollar game they make F2P to try to get people to spend more than the $15 it's worth.
