London-based Synaptic Soup, a development studio created by members of the Evolva team and ex-Bullfrog employees, has announced its first game - an arcade-style racing game called Crazy Car Championship. The game uses Synaptic's proprietary game engine, Cipher, and it includes cross-platform multiplayer support for players on PC, Mac, Linux, and next-generation console systems.

In Crazy Car Championship, players build their own vehicles from a variety of strange components. Players then race their vehicles against one another on a number of tracks on a series of floating islands. The developer describes the game as "Jules Verne meets Flash Gordon in the Cannonball Run." Players can create vehicles as diverse as steam-powered hovercrafts and quantum-powered hot rods.

For more information about the game, visit the official Synaptic Soup Web site, which is linked below.
