A new cartoon based on the Costume Quest games is headed to Amazon, the company announced today.

Frederator Studios shared the news today, confirming it will be released through Amazon for Prime members at some point in 2018. Frederator is the studio behind shows like The Fairly OddParents. It was founded by Adventure Time producer Fred Seibert, who is also working on the upcoming Castlevania series for Netflix.

A post on Frederator's website deals primarily with thanking the various people involved, though it doesn't detail what level of involvement Double Fine will have. It notes that the writers will be revealed at a future date.

In terms of cast, it features voice acting veterans Kevin Michael Richardson (The Animatrix, The Simpsons, Family Guy), Sam Marin (Adventure Time, Regular Show), Rob Paulsen (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Animaniacs), and Frank Welker (Aladdin, The Real Ghostbusters).

Amazon describes the Costume Quest series as "aimed at six to 11-year-olds." The basic premise seems similar to that of the games.

"The show stars four kids facing off against the dark forces lurking in the shadows of their sleepy town of Auburn Pines," Amazon says. "To overcome obstacles and achieve their goals, they must learn to unlock and master the magical powers of supernormal costumes--with each costume comes a new set of transformations and powers."

In addition to Seibert, the executive producers include Will McRobb (The Adventure of Pete & Pete) and two more Adventure Time veterans, Kevin Kolde and Eric Homan.

This news doesn't come out of nowhere, as Frederator announced in 2015 that it was making an 11-minute short film based on Costume Quest.
