Costume Quest continues with Grubbins on Ice

First downloadable content for Double Fine's adventure trick-or-treating game swaps Halloween theme for winter holidays; new costumes, save and pause features included.

The trick-or-treating season is being extended through the holidays this year, thanks to Double Fine Productions. The studio today unveiled Grubbins on Ice, the first downloadable content for its Halloween-themed Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 game Costume Quest.

Set for release next month, the Grubbins on Ice add-on will include an all-new adventure that picks up after the original game's conclusion. With their town free from the candy-stealing grubbins, Lucy and Everett brave the snow-covered streets in search of evidence that they ever truly existed. The search takes the pair (along with pals Wren and Reynold) into another world, where they once again must go door-to-door looking for candy and fending off grubbins.

The pirate costume will let gamers shiver their timbers in a winter wonderland.

In addition to the setting, Grubbins on Ice will introduce new costumes to the game. Staples from the original game like the robot and ninja outfits will be joined by newcomers like a pirate costume, a track suit, and an eyeball. Double Fine has also said it will address some performance issues with the original game and include new features like save points (so players don't have to rely on the autosave system) and pausing during cutscenes.

I'm sorry but "save and pause features included" is a funny headline.

Sold if you realize $15 isn't expensive. Considering you get the same amount of playtime with a $60 game, you'll realize just how fair Costume Quest's price was.

Drop it to 10 bucks INCLUDING the DLC and I'll buy it!

Awesome! I loved Costume Quest, but I hated how short it was. This gives me a good reason to play it again.

How about continuing with a price drop because Halloween's over and the game was overpriced by about $5 or so to begin with?

$15 for the original game was too rich for my blood, even though I enjoyed the demo. Reduce the game to $10 and the expansion at $5, and you then you got a deal.

Great! loved the game! I just hope it isn't too expensive because I found the game at $15 a little bit too much.
