CDV Software has announced Cossacks: Back to War, its upcoming second expansion pack for its real-time strategy game Cossacks: European Wars. The new expansion will add new battles, nations, and units to the game.

Cossacks: Back to War will contain 75 new single missions, the nations of Switzerland and Hungary, and 20 new buildings. Both new nations will feature four new units--the Swiss will get the halberdier, lance knight with sword, harquebusier, and 18th-century chasseur, while the Hungarians get the mounted militia man, the sereganian guard, the pandur, and the mounted pandur. The expansion will also contain Mod1, which adds 30 additional units, including a coastal defense cannon.

Cossacks: Back to War is in development at GSC Game World, the studio that created the original game, and it is scheduled for completion in the second half of 2002. No official North American release date has been announced. For more information, take a look at our previous coverage of the Cossacks games.
