C.O.P. The Recruit Trailer Impressions

This morning, at its annual E3 press conference, Nintendo showed a brief trailer for Ubisoft's recently trademarked C.O.P. The Recruit. Described as an action adventure, the game appears to incorporate third-person on-foot shooting sequences, as well as high-speed vehicles that include a police car, a monster truck, a speedboat, and presumably lots more. Most of the gameplay in the trailer took place outdoors, but protagonist Dan Miles (a plays-by-his-own-rules cop, no doubt) also appeared inside a large casino at one point.

Unlike Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars, which is perhaps the most obvious game to compare C.O.P. The Recruit to, the upcoming game employs a more traditional third-person perspective. When you're driving, one of the screens will be used to display a map of the city, which appeared to be comparable in size to Chinatown Wars' Liberty.
