Electronic Arts announced today that Command & Conquer: Generals is nearing completion. Generals has apparently reached a major beta milestone, and all planned features are present and working. Mark Skaggs, general manager of the EA Pacific studio, said that "the community's feedback from the multiplayer test was instrumental in helping us achieve this beta milestone."

Generals is built on a new proprietary engine and will take the Command & Conquer franchise into full 3D. The game adopts an original near-future setting not previously seen in the Command & Conquer series. Three different sides will be available for play in the game's 23-mission single-player campaign and multiplayer component.

Command & Conquer: Generals is set to arrive in stores on February 11. For more details, check out our previous coverage of the game.
