Star Trek: Picard Details, Theories, Next Generation Episodes To Rewatch, And More

The legendary captain's retirement is still shrouded in mystery.

Star Trek has gone through many permutations over the years and featured numerous characters, but few are as beloved as Star Trek: The Next Generation and its protagonist, Jean-Luc Picard. In a move that still feels hard to believe, actor Patrick Stewart is returning to that iconic role for a new TV series on CBS All-Access known as Star Trek: Picard.

Although the show has not yet gotten a release date, it is due out before the end of 2019, and we're beginning to learn more and more about the series. We've now gotten a few teasers and a trailer, which has helped us to formulate some theories about where things could be going.

TNG is sure to be important, given the number of returning characters--beyond Stewart himself, Brent Spiner returns as Data, Jonathan Frakes as William Riker, Jeri Ryan as Seven of Nine, and Marina Sirtis as Counselor Deanna Troi. As Seven of Nine suggests, the infamous Borg are set to play a role.
