Agatsuma Entertainment has announced that it will be developing an action game called Code of Princess based on the PVC figure line of the same name. In this title, which is tailored as a side-scrolling beat-'em-up, players have to restore balance to the world by taking control of warrior princess Solange Blanchefleur de Luxe who wields a giant sword and a revealing outfit. Other playable characters include the nimble thief Ali Vava, zombie spellcaster Lady Zozo, and guitar-wielding elf Allegro Nantabile Cantabile.

In addition to a simple combat mechanic and the ability to jump in and out of backgrounds (ala Guardian Heroes), the game will support cooperative and competitive multiplayer modes with up to three other 3DS users.

Kinu Nishimura, a former Capcom artist renowned for the artwork for the Street Fighter and Capcom vs. SNK series, will be handling graphic design and artwork for the game. Nishimura is also the creator of the Code of Princess figure line.

The beat-'em-up will be out in spring 2012 for the Nintendo 3DS in Japan. An English version of the title has yet to be announced. Similarly, the Black Rock Shooter PVC figure line also spawned a PSP action role-playing game. Check out the preview of the game here.
