Classic games live again in Japan
Dragon Quest, Star Ocean, and Puyo Puyo are among the titles slated for reissue this year.
TOKYO--A number of classic games will be reissued this year at budget prices for the PlayStation and PlayStation 2 in Japan. For those nostalgic gamers, Square Enix will release two of its favorites, Dragon Quest IV and Star Ocean: The Second Story, under the PSOne Books line.
Dragon Quest IV is a PlayStation remake of the same title, originally released for the Famicom (Japanese NES) in 1990. The game will reach stores March 3 at a price of 3,675 yen ($35). Star Ocean: The Second Story will be released sometime later and will be priced at 2,625 yen ($26).
For the PlayStation 2, Sony Computer Entertainment will release six PlayStation 2 The Best titles: Puyo Puyo Fever (Puyo Pop Fever), 2,800 yen ($27); Shutokou Battle Zero (Tokyo Xtreme Racer: Zero), 1,800 yen ($17); PoPoLoCrois: Hajimari no Bouken, 1,800 yen ($17); Naruto: Narutimate Hero, 2,800 yen ($26); Kinnikuman Generations, 2,800 yen ($26); and Summon Night 3, 3,800 yen ($36).
All titles will be released on February 24, except for Puyo Puyo Fever, which will hit stores February 4.
