Three years after the release of Civilization II on the PC, the Macintosh finally gets its own multiplayer version. Civilization II Multiplayer Gold Edition for Macintosh will come to Mac gamers via MacSoft.

The Mac edition features the main game plus expansions Conflicts in Civilization and Fantastic Worlds, as well as multiplayer options like timed moves, open/closed games, and player negotiation screens.

“Civilization II for Mac has consistently been one of the top-ten selling Macintosh games since its release in 1997,” said Cindy Swanson, MacSoft marketing manager. “Civilization II Multiplayer Gold Edition will advance the capabilities of Civilization II in many ways but the most anticipated feature of Gold Edition will be the multi-player features that will allow Civ II fans all over the world the opportunity to challenge each other.”
