TOKYO--According to Dengeki Online, Sega will simultaneously release both the Japanese and Chinese editions of Sakura Taisen V Episode 0: Arano no Samurai Murasume for the PlayStation 2 on September 22.

Sakura Taisen V Episode 0: Arano no Samurai Musume takes place in America in 1927 and follows main character Gemini Sunrise as he travels through the country to reach New York. The game takes place prior to the events in Sakura Taisen V: Saraba Itoshiki Hito Yo, another title currently in development starring Gemini Sunrise.

Sega explains that the Sakura Taisen series has been a hit among audiences in the Asian region, and the game, anime, and soundtrack of the series have gained high appraisal. The Chinese edition of the original Sega Saturn remake Sakura Taisen: Atsuki Chishio Ni for the PS2 sold well last year. With a strong push from its developer, Sega has decided to release both versions of the latest title simultaneously. The Chinese edition is set to include a bonus DVD that will feature the latest information on Sakura Taisen V: Saraba Itoshiki Hito Yo.

Sony will distribute the Chinese edition of Sakura Taisen V Episode 0: Arano no Samurai Murasume in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, and Malaysia. The game is being developed in-house at Sega's studio Sega Wow.
