To celebrate the Xbox 360's tenth birthday, Microsoft has released a new infographic that reveals some absolutely gargantuan statistics that cover the past decade. As you'll see the image below, players unlocked more than 26 billion achievements, collectively earning 472 billion gamerscore. In all, Xbox 360 players have logged more than 13 million years of gameplay, which is a very, very long time.

Note that actual figures are likely to be higher, as these statistics are presumably only pulled from Xbox 360 consoles that were connected to the Internet.

An Xbox 360 sales/shipment number is not featured in the graphic. In June 2014, Microsoft announced that the console had sold 84 million units worldwide, putting it roughly level with the PlayStation 3. Nintendo's Wii was the top-selling last-generation console with more than 100 million units sold.

The Xbox 360 was released on November 22, 2005. For lots more on the console and its legacy, check out GameSpot's new feature: "How Xbox 360 Dominated a Decade." In the feature, GameSpot editor Rob Crossley looks back at some of the key moments that shaped its success, featuring insight from those there at the time.

Although Microsoft's focus is now largely on the Xbox One, it's clear that the Xbox 360 remains important to the company. A recent Xbox One update introduced backwards compatibility support for some Xbox 360 games.
