The Pokemon Company and McDonald's have announced a new partnership to bring Pokemon toys to Happy Meals at the fast food giant. The new promotion is themed around Pokemon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire and runs November 27-December 23 in the United States and Canada.

Happy Meals will include one of eight Pokemon figures from the games. These include Pikachu, Primal Groudon, Primal Kyogre, Lugia, Rayquaza, Mega Latios, Wobbuffet, and Hoopa. Also included with the meals is one of 12 Pokemon Trading Card Game cards. Check out the image below to see the figures and cards.

In addition, people can bring their 3DS or 2DS to McDonald's and connect to the Nintendo Zone hotspot to download the Hoopa character for Pokemon X/Y or Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire. Watch the trailer above to learn more about Hoopa. Nintendo Zones aren't available at every McDonald's location; more details are available here.

McDonald's is supporting the Pokemon Happy Meal campaign with a "fully integrated marketing campaign" comprised of TV and online ads, among other things.

This isn't the first time Pokemon toys have been included with McDonald's Happy Meals. Pokemon also isn't the only video game franchise to get the Happy Meal treatment, as Mario Kart, Skylanders, and Sonic also have.

The next major Pokemon game is Pokemon Go, an ambitious-sounding mobile game that challenges players to find, catch, and trade Pokemon creatures in the real world. Its developer, Niantic Labs, recently received $20 million in funding to assist in the game's development.
