The first screenshots for Microsoft's upcoming Xbox-exclusive racing game Forza Horizon 2 have emerged, showing off weather effects and some pretty remarkable visuals. The screenshots, which were hosted on IGN before being removed, were dug up by NeoGAF (via Videogamer).

There's no word on if these images are from the Xbox 360 or Xbox One version of Forza Horizon 2, but a safe bet would probably be the latter. On display are some of the game's 100+ cars, including the 2015 Lamborghini Huracan. We also get a first look at the game's southern European setting, those it's not immediately clear which city we're looking at.

It's also now been confirmed that Sumo Digital (Xbox Fitness, Sonic & All-Stars Racing) is working on the Xbox 360 version of Forza Horizon 2, while Playground Games is handling development on the Xbox One version. The Xbox 360 version of Forza Horizon 2 uses the original game's graphics engine as a "baseline," according to IGN.
