Chaos Rising in Dawn of War II
First stand-alone expansion to Relic's Warhammer 40K real-time strategy game set for spring release with new single-player, co-op campaigns, playable Chaos Space Marines.
It's not like the forces of Chaos to schedule things in advance, but THQ has it on good authority that the disciples of filth, blood, pleasure, and corruption have penciled in their arrival into the universe of Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II. The publisher today announced the real-time strategy game's first stand-alone expansion, Chaos Rising, will arrive under the Games for Windows Live banner in spring 2010.
As the name suggests, Chaos Rising will add the Chaos Space Marines to the game's roster of playable factions, in addition to new units for all the original game's armies and a level cap increase from 20 to 30. For those invested in the original Dawn of War II's Blood Ravens campaign, the Chaos Rising expansion will continue their story in new single-player and co-op campaigns with 20 new missions.
Those who can't wait for more Dawn of War II action can still look forward to next month's free release of The Last Stand cooperative three-player mode. For more on Dawn of War II, check out GameSpot's review.
