CGI Games Take On Java
Sick of high-bandwidth Java and Shockwave games? One guy, named Bill, goes back to CGI.
The humble-sounding Bill's Games, a free online gaming site, made its Internet debut recently. Bill's site makes a point of not using Java- or Shockwave-based games.
Bill's Games are all CGI-based, an effort that site developer Bill Kendrick thinks will prove especially attractive to the WebTV user. Games featured on the site include solitaire, hangman word games, mazes, and puzzles. Kendrick said that his site thus far seems most popular to senior citizens using WebTV units. If you're looking to beat someone's grandmother at a low-bandwidth classic gaming match - you have your arena.
