Nokia has today revealed that Prague-based Cenega Publishing has two previously unannounced N-Gage titles in development. Roots: Gates of Chaos and Shade: Wrath of Angels are currently scheduled for release toward the end of this year and early in 2005, respectively.

"This is a fantastic chance for Cenega games to take advantage of the unique mobile connected features that the N-Gage platform provides," said Slavomir Pavlicek, general manager at Cenega Publishing. "Roots: Gate of Chaos and Shade: Wrath of Angels on the N-Gage platform will allow the players to join their allies and experience the real meaning of brotherhood in arms via multiplayer gaming over Bluetooth wireless technology. Cenega fans will be able to enjoy some of their favorite games anytime [and] anywhere they wish."

"Working with Cenega means that N-Gage gamers can play fantastic titles like Roots: Gates of Chaos and Shade: Wrath of Angels, which should have gamers on tenterhooks across the globe," added Pasi Pölönen, director of game publishing at Nokia's games business unit. "With Roots, and its support for up to four-player multiplayer gaming, and Shade, [and its] two-player deathmatch mode, we expect to have a long and happy relationship with Cenega [to] keep gamers' thumbs occupied worldwide."

Roots: Gates of Chaos is described as a role-playing prequel to the other versions of The Roots, set some 1,000 years before the events of those games. The gods' struggles for domination have turned the world into a battlefield ravaged by hordes of monsters that go unchecked by gods who are concentrating on mobilizing their own armies. Players will assume the role of a hero fighting to assist the Lady of Life in her battle against the Demon Lord. Roots: Gates of Chaos will boast both cooperative and competitive modes of play for up to four players via Bluetooth.

Like its PC and Xbox counterparts, Shade: Wrath of Angels is described as a 3D survival horror title. Gameplay in the mobile version will be largely combat- and puzzle-based, and it will see players being pursued by enemies as they travel to different dimensions and time periods. In addition to the single-player adventure, Shade: Wrath of Angels will feature a Bluetooth deathmatch mode for two players.

We'll bring you more information on both of the N-Gage titles announced by Cenega as soon as it becomes available.
