Every Monday, Nintendo releases a wave of downloadable content for the Wii and DSi. This week, the former console gets two new offerings and one classic Virtual Console addition. First up is Ghostfire Games' WiiWare fighting title Rage of the Gladiator. Rated T for Teen and priced at 1,000 Wii points ($10), the single-player game will have players square off against a variety of fantastical opponents, some of whom will have magic abilities. Players themselves can also cast spells if they choose to specialize in magic; offense and defense specializations are also available.

A second WiiWare game, Code Monkeys' Triple Shot Sports, is available for 500 Wii points ($5). As the name implies, the game will let players engage in a variety of target-shooting events, including archery, pistols, and rifles. Wind speed and other weather conditions will also factor into the game, which is rated E for Everyone.

"No, I said 'rage,' not 'mage.'"

The Wii's Virtual Console gets only one game this week--the TurboGrafx-16 version of Konami's Castlevania: Rondo of Blood. Originally released in 1993, the game was the 10th installment in the now-lengthy Castlevania series, which follows the vampire-hunter Richter Belmont through nine trap- and monster-filled levels. It is the first time the original game has been released outside Japan in its original form, although it was remade in Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles for the PSP. Priced at 900 Wii points ($9), the game is rated T for Teen.

No fewer than four DSiWare titles arrive this week, covering a variety of subjects. Gameloft's Zoo Frenzy (E for Everyone, 500 DSi points) will let players raise and train virtual zoo animals with a variety of minigames. Teyon's 101 MiniGolf World (E for Everyone, 500 DSi points) lets players use their stylus as a putter on 101 minigolf-course holes. Ubisoft's Battle of Giants: Dinosaurs - Fight for Survival puts players in the leathery hide of an endangered dinosaur fighting for survival. Tag Games' Car Jack Streets will put players into a Grand Theft Auto-style underworld where they must raise $1 million by committing various crimes.
