Castlevania: Harmony of Despair tunes in on PS3

Konami's multiplayer-focused installment of the Dracula-Belmont feud confirmed for downloadable release on PSN this summer.

Last year's multiplayer Castlevania game is going multiplatform. Konami today announced that the downloadable Xbox 360 title Harmony of Despair is making the jump to the PlayStation 3 later this summer.

Harmony of Despair leans heavily on its multiplayer action (Xbox 360 screen shown).

Originally included in 2010's Xbox Live Summer of Arcade lineup, Harmony of Despair lets up to six players join together online to take down Dracula. In a new feature included with the PlayStation Network edition, the game will also include support for four in local cooperative play. Additionally, the PS3 edition of the game includes some of the Xbox 360 version's downloadable content, such as the Beauty, Desire, Situation Dire Map Pack and extra characters Julius Belmont and Yoko Belnades.

I love when this happens. I don't mind the extra wait, then PS3 gets DLC bundled into the port at no extra cost.

Harmony of Despair... Castlevania HD. Cute. Anyway, I'm a nut for 2D Castlevania so I'm going to be all over this now that it's coming in a format I can access.

@DanielL5583 @NaryuKick @FlamingFury Symphony of the Night is not on the PAL PSN. It's on the USA PSN and its on every region of Xbox Live Arcade. If you want it from PSN, make yourself a USA account and get a USA PSN Card from "play-asia.com"

I highly recommend this game! Had it since release and never stopped playing. :D

This game is not a metroidvania styled game, even though it carried the Castlevania game. For those looking for a proper exploration and abilities based story, look elsewhere. This is all about tackling the same dungeons numerous times with friends (since doing most of them solo is near impossible).

Symphony of the Night isn't out on PSN in Australia either. I know because I made an american account to try and get it, but I lacked a valid credit card. Stupid not allowing australian cards...

@DanielL5583 What region are you in? Symphony of the Night has been available for about two years, maybe even 3 years. In America at least. Just check under PSone Classics on the PSN.

Guys, I don't see it anywhere. Which regions are you from, because it's possibly because of difference in region.

And just because a game isnt exclusive doesnt mean it isnt good. I love the Gears series, and even if they did have it on PS3 also, id still love it, no matter what console or multi-console, its just a video game, play it and enjoy it.

Ive had this since last year, its a great game for Castlevania fans, 2D platforming fans or people who love grinding levels for loot.

The best XBLA game will also be the best PSN game. I'm getting it because of the local co-op, but they better let the other players sign in on other accounts.
