UK-based Batfish Studios has today released new information on the PC game formerly known as Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons. Now known as Captain Scarlet: Retaliation, the real-time tactical strategy game will see players assuming control of up to six Spectrum agents simultaneously as they attempt to bring an end to the Mysterons' evil plans.

Each of the Spectrum agents in the game will have his own unique abilities, and players will also be able to equip them with an array of equipment, including sniper rifles, Mysteron detectors, and remote-controlled robots. Captain Scarlet: Retaliation will feature 14 levels designed to re-create the look and feel of the original Gerry Anderson TV series, and objectives in the game will include calling in air strikes, defusing nuclear bombs, and rescuing downed Angel pilots.

Captain Scarlet: Retaliation is currently scheduled for release in the UK on September 5. No release dates for the rest of Europe or North America have been announced at this time, but we'll bring you more information on the game as soon as it becomes available.
