Capcom has announced that it will rename the mech simulator it is currently developing for the Xbox. Previously known by working title Brainbox, the game will now be known as Tekki (which roughly translates to "iron knight"), though the game's name may change again before it is released. In the game, players take control of a type of mech called a Vertical Tank (VT), which features a variety of weapons such as plasma torches, a 270mm rifle, an MK21-6 twin-pod rocket launcher, and more. As players progress through the game, they can choose from several different models of VTs, like the Decider, the Scarface, the Behemoth, the Falchion, the Blade, and others.

Tekki will also make use of a special controller that has been specifically designed for the game and features more than 40 buttons (including switches and dials), two flight sticks, and three pedals. The specific dimensions were not disclosed, but it has been estimated that it is about the width of three Xbox units. Currently 30 percent complete, Tekki for the Xbox is scheduled for release sometime this summer in Japan.
