Capcom's X-Men vs. Street Fighter Ships

The PlayStation version of this classic Saturn title ships in Japan. Here's what you get.

Comments

The PlayStation version of Capcom's X-Men vs. Street Fighter has just shipped in Japan. This version, subtitled "EX Edition," is quite a bit different from the arcade version and the Saturn version, which is also currently out in Japan.

Due to the PlayStation's lack of RAM, the tag team mode that made XMvSF for the Saturn slightly different from the norm is nowhere to be found. The only remnants of the tag team feature is the team attack. You still pick two characters, but only the second character makes his presence felt on the team attack - you can't switch characters at all.

Fights have been extended to a standard two-out-of-three-round contest. The graphics are a bit washed out, and the game is severely lacking in frames of animation.

A large amount of slowdown rounds out this mediocre translation.
