Capcom announces that it will publish a localized version of SCEE's The Getaway in Japan.

Capcom has today announced an agreement with Sony Computer Entertainment Europe that will allow it to publish a localized version of The Getaway in Japan. No details concerning possible release dates or gameplay alterations have been released at this time, but today's news follows a similar announcement made in June that will see Japanese gamers getting their hands on Grand Theft Auto III for the first time this fall.

The Getaway is a gangster-themed action adventure game set in modern-day London. The game features third-person shoot-outs and car chases and is notable not only for its accurate re-creation of a large area of London, but also for the fact that the screen doesn't feature a single onscreen indicator for time limits, energy, ammunition. and the like. For more information on The Getaway, which has been available in North America since January, check out our full review of the game.
