Capcom Hangs On

While it still hasn't dethroned GoldenEye, Resident Evil 2 remains strong on the rental charts this week.

GoldenEye remains atop the pile of rental figures this week, its grip tightly on the wallets of video game renters everywhere. But, Resident Evil 2 is presenting a decent challenge, in fact, the first one that the N64 has really had in a while. Add to that the still-strong WCW Nitro for the PlayStation, which comes in at number three in the charts, and it's no longer an all-Nintendo show. Konami's Nagano Winter Olympics '98 ranked in at number four, with WCW Vs. NWO at number five.

For the curious, here's the chart (rank, platform, weeks on the chart, revenues):

1 GoldenEye 007 N64 (28) $308,930 2 Resident Evil 2 PlayStation (7) $215,100 3 WCW Nitro PlayStation (11) $187,740 4 Nagano Winter Olympics '98 N64 (8) $178,640 5 WCW Vs NWO N64 (14) $178,620
