Electronic Arts has today announced that it's begun shipping Command & Conquer: Generals to stores in North America. The game is the first in the long-running C&C series to be in full 3D, and it features three very different warring factions including China, the USA, and a terrorist organization called the Global Liberation Army.

"The game is stunningly beautiful," said EA president and COO John Riccitiello. "Command & Conquer Generals mixes fantasy battles and adversaries with contemporary politics and geography. If you've ever enjoyed a real-time strategy game, you're going to love Command & Conquer: Generals."

There are three single-player campaigns in the game, as well as a number of multiplayer maps for between two and eight players and a "world builder" utility that allows players to create their own maps. For more information on Command & Conquer: Generals, check out our full review of the game.
