Cancelled Red Fly project Star Wars-related?

Resume of ex-Red Fly environment artist reveals studio was working on now-cancelled Star Wars title.

Earlier this year, Austin-based Red Fly Studio--the team behind the Wii version of Sega's Thor: God of Thunder--laid off 30 staff members due to the unexpected cancelation of "a large, high-profile project."

Red Fly's Wii version of Thor: God of Thunder.

It now appears that the project may have been a Star Wars title, with the online resume of an ex-Red Fly developer (discovered first by Superannuation) revealing he had worked on a "next-gen Star Wars title" from January to June 2011, after the studio's completion of Thor: God of Thunder for the Wii.

Red Fly is best known for 2008's original Mushroom Men games on the Wii and DS. Its highest-profile games to date have been Wii versions of Ghostbusters: The Video Game, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II, and Thor: God of Thunder.

@edranyesul - what a shame, i grew up playing blake stone, mdk, duke, wolfenstein, heretic/hexen, r.o.t.t, etc, and i thought they did an absolutely superb job on duke forever. i am 28 years old now, but they did one helluva job with that game...

Part of me hopes it was Battlefront 3... but y'know, after Duke Nukem Forever, I'm not so sure games in "development hell" should see the light of day. I would take a game set in the books' Expanded Universe, though!

Man, I hope they release some info on it. Maybe another studio will pick it up.

I hope it was not Battlefront 3. That game NEEDS to be made now!

I'd imagine it was a Wii game since that is where all their past experience seems to be.

The Star Wars: The Force unleashed 3? or something for the Xbox 3, Wii U and PS4? Well it does not matter as the game was cancelled. Hopefully it was not Battlefront 3, That would have made a great launch title for these Next Generation systems.

@warhawk-geeby I agree completely mate. I mean the move is the perfect lightsaber accessory. you could easily hold it like a saber and the ball could turn the colour of your saber. You don't need a degree in programing or marketing to get that!

@Solidty If you call laying off 30 people surviving, ok. Skin of your teeth type thing, but ok. There is a laundry list of "high profile" Star Wars games that have been in the rumor mill for years. None of them have seen the light of day. Only one who got attention was Battlefront 3, and where has that gone eh? It aint being developed, that i know for sure.

Seriously.. How have LucasArts not taken full advantage of the PS3's move by now?? The hardware is dying of death, you'd have thought Sony would be throwing money at developers to make a decent Star Wars game. Then again.. I suppose they're working on the on-the-rails game for kinect... urgh.

They had to go since they make poor visions on the games.

It can be brought up to Move or Kinect.. star wars would be awesome using the move controller.
