As part of the big Call of Duty Next event, Activision officially announced and showed off the new Warzone map, Urzikstan. This is an urban-type battlefield that is described by Activision as being smaller--but more dense--than Al Mazrah and Caldera.

You can see the the map below, including its 11 named points of interest. As you can see, the map has a number of distinct urban zones, with a river running through the middle. The map also features a train, which players can control for the first time in Warzone's history. There are also horizontal zip lines, another new feature, which should help players evade opponents and move around the map faster.

There are three new perks for Urzikstan, as well, including Shrouded, which tosses a smoke grenade when a player is downed to help stay alive longer. Another new perk is called Irradiated, which allows players to move faster and take less damage in the gas. The third is Resolute, and this increases player movement when injured.

At launch, Urzikstan will be playable for both battle royale and Plunder modes, and it will join the Vondel and Ashika Island maps. A new version of Warzone Ranked will come in 2024, as will the Fortune's Keep and Rebirth Island maps in 2024.

Additionally, there is a new Gulag for Urzikstan. It sports a three-lane setup and includes a vertical ascender that players can use to win the match if it makes it to overtime. The new Gulag features some randomization, as there is a nighttime version where players get night-vision goggles.

Also during Call of Duty Next, Activision announced that Modern Warfare III will introduce more than 30 new weapons and include even more detailed weapon stats in Gunsmith. The company also announced more PlayStation-exclusive content for Modern Warfare 3.

Modern Warfare III launches on November 10. The Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer beta begins on October 6, first on PlayStation before expanding to Xbox and PC.
