Downloadable content for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare will launch first on PlayStation 4, Sony announced today. This is not that much of a surprise, as Sony said on stage at E3 last year that its new timed-exclusivity deal with Activision could extend beyond Call of Duty: Black Ops III. In terms of timing, as was the case with last year's game, Infinite Warfare's DLC will come to PS4 30 days before it's released on Xbox One and PC.

This information was confirmed today in a post on the PlayStation Blog.

Before Black Ops III, it was Xbox consoles that received Call of Duty DLC before all others. Sony's Adam Boyes said last summer that the company's previous exclusivity deal with another big-name Activision game, Destiny, played a part helping seal the deal for Call of Duty.

For Black Ops III, PlayStation players also got into the game's beta before Xbox and PC gamers. It remains to be seen, however, if PlayStation users will receive any further perks for Infinite Warfare.

Infinite Warfare and a remastered version of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare were announced today. Infinity Ward, which originally developed 2007's Modern Warfare, is making the new game, while Raven Software is handling the remaster project. The only way to get Modern Warfare's remastered edition is to buy a premium version of Infinite Warfare.
