Call of Duty: Ghosts Onslaught DLC launching January 28

Infinity Ward confirms "something menacing" is coming to shooter this month.

The first wave of downloadable content for Call of Duty: Ghosts will launch on January 28, developer Infinity Ward has announced over Twitter. The "Onslaught" DLC was originally revealed through a GameStop promotional poster that appeared over the weekend.

A teaser video for Onslaught posted to the Call of Duty Instagram account, featuring a figure wielding an axe, teases that "something menacing" is coming to Ghosts. No other official details are available.

The GameStop poster states Onslaught will include four multiplayer maps (Fog, Bayview, Containment, and Ignition), as well as Nightfall, the first of four new episodes for the game's cooperative Extinction mode. New weaponry is also included with the DLC, according to the poster.

Onslaught is the first of four DLC packs Activision included in the game's season pass, with Devastation, Invasion, and Nemesis still to come this year (together they spell O.D.I.N, the name of the space station that is central to the game's plot).

Why do YOU FAIL to MENTION that PS4 will get it one month later in Feb 29th.... oooo How I believed next gen would be different....faster access... Next gen so far is a failure in every category except maybe graphics.

i'm down with "play whatever game you damn want" so I can state an opinion that I am glad I stopped handing money over to Activision. This game is absolute trash. sorry.

The world holds its breath... for Infinity Ward to shut down. Ever since the top talent left, the games have been awful  (MW3, Ghosts). Recycled MP, awful campaign, and nonexistent tech talent all point to the end.

Treyarch needs to get its shit together as well - BO2 was not half as good as its predecessor.

With all the stuff coming out this year I am looking forward to it's a change to have something I am definitely not looking forward to.

Is there no more 1-month Xbox exclusivity on the DLC? I saw no mention of this.

Did I ever tell you the definition of insanity? Insanity... Is... Buying the exact $%& CoD game Every year over and over again, expecting devs will change... That is cracy... Did I ever tell you the definition od insanity?

Ghosts is the first Call of Duty since MW1 where the MP lost me and my friends, who are hardcore CoD veterans. I don't really like CoD, but I didn't mind playing it with my friends for the social aspect of gaming. Playing with your bros is always fun. Ghosts, though, is a whole other story. It managed to turn off the most fanboyish CoD players that I know, and we now all play BF4 together.

Ghosts not only boasts an horrible and clichéd campaign, it also has a really bad multiplayer. Big maps to encourage sniping, lame unlockable system, subpar graphics (we're in 2014, for fuck's sake) and ressource-hog and half-assed port for PC. Ghosts lost us. It's not a good game. Titanfall is on the horizon, though. Good luck with that, Activision.

I had a lot of fun playing extinction mode when this game came out. I hope these new map packs improve it even more

Awful game. Worst in the series. They took out the Spec Ops, the Graphics look worse than any of the others, and the game just looks and feels too old. Squad Play is okay where you can name and dress up your whole squad, but somehow white camo scuba suits just don't cut it. You should be able to pick the color and stay with it no matter the map. The maps however are awful within itself so i guess it don't matter.

I don't know what they did with this game, but usually when COD comes out near my whole friends list is playing it. Now just a few. I think maybe the "locale" of where the game takes place, or the storyline was not fitting or something that resonated into boring MP Maps, but they need major changes to the COD Series or that game is dead.

After having rented this game, I am glad I didn't buy it. The multiplayer is so boring. It is well done, and functions better than BF 4, but it is the same thing over and over and over and over and over... How people play this game all day, every day, is something I will never understand. Enjoy your new overpriced map pack. New scenery, same boring game.

@jediknight52501 Meh. COD up to Black Ops was pretty good, everything since then was less than satisfactory.

@Fursnake It's good to know what you don't want - it helps ground you.

@mkaliazThat's a great idea.  If every COD was exclusive to just the XBox the rest of the world could live in peace, and let the XBox suffer.

@Fandango_Letho

You're right. Look the games bad and was poorly done, and for the first time i see more people playing BF, or GTA etc. COD is mostly a MP Game, but its all mostly based on the Campaign, and if the Campaign is bad, there's a good chance the MP will be bad as well. There was a couple of good moments, but i think this "future war" or even "modern war" has played itself out on most every game. Maybe they should go back to Vietnam like on Black Ops and do the Cold War thing again.

@Xx_DemonSoul_xX Some people know what they want and enjoy the same thing over and over again.  They might not understand how you jump around in your interests and don't seem to know what you want.

TheWatcher000
TheWatcher000

@iceman200004It will be the same quality as all the other maps they've reskinned for you.

You won't notice a thing.

@TheWatcher000 @mkaliaz Then Ponies would cry about how the XB1 outsells the PS4 like 5 to 1, considering the majority of CoD players this generation are on PS4.

@Fitcherman@Xx_DemonSoul_xX

Well i think "change" would be good, which is to say, change the game engine from that of one built a decade ago, to one of this day and age. Better graphics (or at least modern ones), different sounding weapons etc.

Another change may be changing "genre's". The Modern War aspect to games is becoming the new WW2. It's too stale and played out.

Black Ops i feel was the best in the whole series, primarily because a well done campaign, usually means a well done MP. The whole "Kennedy" thing, Vietnam etc was relatively new to Gamers at least on Consoles, and it worked.
