A big draw of Black Ops multiplayer is class creation. In on-line multiplayer you should select the weapons and perks that best fit your playing style. Do you want to rush in close and fight head on? Be extra protected from grenades? Or move silently while assassinating? Try to build a class that both suites your tastes and has gear that complement each other. For example, the Warlord Perk is a bad choice for a shotgun user, while the Ninja Perk can greatly help a stealthy melee character. Leveling and Killstreaks
Challenges and Contracts
During multiplayer, you will only have access to a hand full of weapons and items from the start. As you play matches and gain kills you will earn Experiences that will unlock new modes and moves. You can also gain Call of Duty points to buy all sorts of gear, perks, killstreaks, and playercards. You can even wager these points against other players, gambling for huge gains or losses.
Among the fastest ways of gain Experience and CoD Points early on is to complete Challenges and Contracts. Challenges can be completed at any time and will continue recording progress as you play. They have simple tasks such as scoring enough kills or using a curtained type of weapons. Unlike Challenges, Contracts need to be bought with CoD. You only have a set amount of time before these Contracts expire, ranging from less than an hour to several hours. If you fail to complete these contracts you may need to wait up to 24 hours before renewing them. Still, the rewards are worth with if you can complete these tasks in time.
A huge means of aiding your team and crippling your enemy (thus granting more Experience and CoD Points) are Killstreaks. As you gain between 3 through 11 kills in a row you can deploy extra rewards to help the tides of war. During on-line multiplayer, each of the different Killstreaks will cost CoD points to equip and you'll only be to have three at a time.

Zombies and Zork
Another multiplayer option for up to four people is Zombies mode. You can purchase items and weapons via points. You gain these points by killing enemy zombies and sealing passages. If playing with others, be sure to revive them before they are swarmed.
Shotguns can be great for blasting enemies down fast, but their long reloads can be a pain when you get surrounded. Starting with an assault rifle is always a great means of having balanced power and speed. You can always upgrade to those damaging sniper rifles and shotguns once you've earned enough points.
After completing campaign (Or using the cheat below), you will granted a new stage of Zombies where you can play as Kennedy, Castro and Nixon. The same Zombies rules apply, though you get a few different selections of weapons.
You can also access the computer terminal at the selection screen. Repeatedly press the iron sight and fire buttons and Mason will stand up from his chair. Move over to the computer on the left side and you'll be able to enter several codes: The code DOA will allow you to play Dead Ops Arcade, an over the head shooter. The code 3ARC UNLOCK will grant you access to Dead Ops Arcade and the Presidential Zombies mode right from the main menu. ZORK will allow you to play a full copy of the old PC game Zork. If you want to play through that game guides can be found here. Finally, 3ARC INTEL will allow you to read all Intel files.
You'll start in a bar with Bowman and Woods at your side. Start by shooting down the first round of soldiers with your pistol and you'll soon gain an assault rifle. Make use of its attachments and iron sights to quickly get an edge over the enemy.
Move down the alley way and to either sidewalk. Don't remain in the center of the street or you may be plowed by on coming cop cars. You'll soon come to a car yourself which can be used to make your escape. Follow the on screen commands to start up the car and drive through the barricade.
After a cut scene, follow Woods and hook up to the line and travel down to the stronghold below. Woods and Bowman will kill the guards, allowing you to advance. In the first room sneak up behind the guard and melee him with your knife to score a clean kill.
Follow Woods' advice and stay down until the trucks and patrol move by. Once the coast is clear, get up and move up the hill. Take out all of the guards outside and then move inside. They will be waiting for you, so take cover and pop out to kill them one at a time.
You'll soon come to Castro's room where he will have a hostage. You'll have slow motion for a short time and will be able to score a clean head shot from your pistol. Afterwards, you'll need to escape. Move out the hall and assist Bowman with kill off the reinforcement. You'll move down to a lower level and will be swarmed by vehicles.
Grab the nearby grenade launcher and use it to take out the truck with a rapid fire turret. Afterwards, follow Woods into the sugar fields and into the escape plane. You'll be armed with a machinegun to take down the last of the guards. However, it will prove to be too weak and you'll be forced to man the heavy cannon on the ground. Help Bowman and Woods escape while you shoot down the Communist forces.
Upon gaining control, smash the guard over the head with your rock and help the other prisoners escape. You'll soon grab a knife which you can use to stab guards on the way out. When you reach the outside, the prison guards will be packing guns and even a heavy machinegun. Grab the pistol on the floor and follow Reznov behind the mine carts. The guards will alternate the sides they come from; kill two on the right, kill two on the left, and so on.
Eventually the machinegun nest will be taken out and you can proceed to the next area. Climb up the tower and you'll be manning a slingshot. Use it to destroy the three targets in the distance. Remember, that it's the bottom of the cross hairs where the flaming garbage will land, not the center of the reticule. Afterwards, go back to the ground level and equip a shotgun to blast through the next gate.
Charge through and destroy the vehicles, causing them to explode and take out enemy enemies in the way. Keep moving forward and grab the fallen harpoon gun. Fire this new item straight at the helicopter ahead and clear the zone. Enter the next building and wait for the guards to move forward. They are using shields that will block your shots in a straight up fight. Instead, wait for them to get close and move behind them, exposing their weak meaty flesh.
The guards will attempt to close the blast doors, so charge to the next level and to the right. Open the door so your allies can get inside. They will kill off the machine gunner above you, allowing you to rush the other enemies that enter from the ceiling. Support Reznov and he will grab a blow torch. Get his back and kill the guards that enter from the broken gate and windows.
Reznov will use the torch to open a vault in the previous room. Protect him and take some cover your self. A good place to wait is in the corner, allowing you to shoot enemies that enter from both sides. Inside the vault is a mini gun that will help you destroy ever thing insight. Move forward and use your new toy to destroy ever vehicle and soldier along the way. Be sure to aim towards the windows above, as enemies with rockets will be perching over you.
After a cut scene, you'll have access to a motor bike. Get on and race across the tracks below. Follow Reznov and blast the enemies with your pistol. Head to the truck firing on you and take out the gunner. As you move close, Reznov will jack the driver seat while you man the gun. Destroy the helicopter, and trucks that come by. Finally, a train will arrive from the right. Jump onto it to make your escape and end the mission.
You and Woods will be looking for a double agent and may need to carry out his mission. Patrol choppers will appear above, so quickly hid near the pipes ahead. Duck down and do not fire, or you will be quickly discovered. Once they pass, follow Woods and you'll steal uniforms from a few guards.
Meet up with Brooks and Bowman and let them distract the remaining guards. Go with Woods and kill the enemies inside the next building. With the tight corners, your grenades will be a great means for disrupting groups and getting in surprise kills. Still, your rifle is the best bet for killing most enemies.
Move to the roof and kill the enemies around. Some will not even notice you, allowing you to sneak up and kill them with quick melee attacks. Afterwards, meet up with Woods again to gain an explosive crossbow. Use this weapon to support Bowman and Brooks as they storm the next base. Zoom in with the crossbow and destroy the trucks below.
Hook up and swing down to rescue the double agent: Weaver. There will be a bit of slow motion, so you can quickly execute his guards. He'll thank you and join up with your squad. In the next area, Brooks and Bowman will split off to the lower level. Stay by Woods and Weaver and take the upper section.
Keep using your default rifle, as its attachments and iron sights are excellent for the on coming fire fights. Communist soldiers will enter from below and group up. Use your grenades to take them down and clean up the rest with your gun.
You'll come to the launch center. Use the one screen commands to set up a bomb and kill the scientists inside. You'll be too late to stop the rocket from taking off. Move back outside and grab the missile launcher on the other side. Aim for the rocket and blast it out of the sky. You have some control over your own payload, so aim high and steer to get a good shot.
Follow the rest of your team inside and clean up the last of what remains inside the fortress. The enemy will make use of grenades themselves, so don't step out too quickly and blow your feet off. Instead, lay back behind cover and take them down when the fury dies down. There are a lot of foes, so if you run low on ammo be sure to steal a gun from their cold dead bodies.
After getting Hudson back on his feet, follow him and Woods to the front lines. Several helicopters and soldiers will advance from above. Destroy or ignore them and run under the bridge ahead. You'll enter a quick time event and will need to mash the on screen buttons to get free.
Afterwards, follow Woods to the right and take down the enemies that pop by. You'll circle around back to the left and will need to shoot the soldier packing a flame thrower. Next, duck under the fallen tank ahead and move to a heavy battlefield. Several tanks will advance from the distance and you will need more fire power to take them down. Grab the LAW rocket launcher in the center of your camp and take down the three tanks one at a time.
Follow Woods again and you'll be on top of a hill with an enemy encampment below. Enemy soldiers will keep coming non-stop, so don't feel forced to kill them all. Instead move below and destroy the barrels with your melee knife.
Ascend the next hill and shoot the enemies up top. You'll have a lot of support from the American soldiers, along with the invulnerable Hudson and Woods. When you get to the top of the hill, Woods' gun will jam which will leave him exposed to the enemy. Quickly use your pistol and shoot down the enemies before they are able to take down
You'll be taking the gunner's seat of a heavily armed truck. Woods and Hudson will drive you around while you take aim at more enemy tanks. Time your attacks and pilot the rockets to clean up the last of the enemies, ending the mission.
During this mission you'll gain a new shotgun: the Dragon that shoots flaming grenades. It will be a great use in taking down enemies and should be your prime firearm throughout the mission.
You'll meet up with Reznov and he will give you documents about the enemy. Precede a head and snatch up a radio from your allied soldiers.
After making a call to military command, you'll have access to air strikes. Use this new function to call in air support that will destroy the enemy for you. You mainly want to target hard to hit enemies that are hiding inside buildings. The Communists will also let loose tanks that will require the use of the air strikes.
Follow Reznov and Woods some more and you'll be traveling through the upper levels of the building. An enemy tank will appear and will blast you down to the lower level. While here, place a bomb and destroy the machine gun nest. Your allies will finish of the tank and lead you to the escape point.
There is only so much room on the transport helicopter, and you'll let the wounded out first. Stay behind and provide ground support. Take cover in the building with Bowman to keep protect from enemy fire. You can still call in the attack helicopter, which you'll need to take out the tank to the east. After wards, run to the docks on the opposite side and climb on a boat to safety.
For this mission you will take control of Hudson. Start off by breaking a window and placing a shard of glass into Dr Clarke's mouth. Use the on screen commands to punch him in the face while Weaver holds Clarke down. When the Communists advance on you, follow Clarke to the roof and platform across to the next building.
Clarke will give you a number of new weapons to help you on your way. Dual wield machine guns will help you the most, though taking a sniper rifle might help too. Move down the halls and take out every enemy that sneaks by. If you are still using dual wield, keep in mind that you have no iron sights and instead will fire with your left hand weapon.
You'll come to a raining outside area where guards will come from the roofs. If you did decide on a sniper rifle, now is a great place to get in some far away kills. Otherwise, charge forward and move under the ledge. This will allow you to take out most of the foes while Weaver handles the enemies on the roofs.
Slide down the next set of buildings and you will get a slow motion drop on the enemies below. Follow Clarke and Weaver some more and they will help you gun down more enemies.
Enemies will burst through with smoke grenades, making them invisible for a few seconds. Take them out and Clarke will bring you to a storage area with even more guns. The machine gun sitting in the center is a great means of mowing down enemies. Support Clarke as you and Weaver take down the enemies approaching on your rear.
Next is a plat forming section where you will need to sprint and jump to clear the ledges. Make sure to take out the enemies before leaping to the next roof, as the fall will hurt you a little. If you are taking shots, the landing may be fatal. Finally, when you land on the ground level take out the last few soldiers with your pistols. A van will soon arrive and take you to safety.
For this mission you'll be stepping into the shoes of Reznov during the last days of the Fascist regime. Weapons here are a bit weaker than in the Cold War, though that also means you can be a lot more reckless when charging on the enemy. Even when the enemy attempts to surrender, it's a good idea to shoot them anyway.
Enter the top of the building and you'll find a lot of enemies crowding around. Your grenades are a superb means for killing the German forces quickly. Next, move back outside and you'll be able to use mortar support. As you throw smoke grenades, your allies will shoot powerful explosives from afar.
Some key places to tag include the overhead bridge and the building where Steiner is being held. In the next zone, you should also tag the machinegun nests above.
After a few cut scenes and walking around a non combat area, you'll now gain control as you escape from the British forces. Steal a dropped weapon from the dead British or Russians and advance to the main haul. Place a bomb and you'll start up a count down. Shoot down the rubble on the left and it will create a platform to the upper levels.
Pump your crazy legs and make it across the main level. The British and Russians will fight each other, leaving you free to escape on the rope leading to the icy sea below.
After crashing down, grab your pistol and take out the two enemies in front of you. Before drowning, exit the helicopter and follow Reznov to the boat in the distance. Quickly come out of the water and take the guard hostage. Use your human shield to protect yourself and shoot the other enemies with your gun.
Follow Woods and shoot down the enemies on the hills above and through the rivers. After getting a call from Bowman, enter the water again and swim under the next boat. Emerge and quickly stab the guards before they realize what's going on. Sneaking with just your knife and soon Bowman will appear.
Head back underwater and plant the first of two bombs. Next, move back to the surface and find three sleeping soldiers. Cover their mouths and brutally stab them while their cries for help are muffled under your bloody fingers.
Go back underwater and plant a second charge. Keep following your unit and when Woods gives the order, blow up the charges. This will alert the enemy, so be quick about killing them all.
Grab the guns in the building on the left and you'll have plenty of fire power to destroy the enemy. A Boat with a heavy machine gun will emerge far off to the right. Follow Bowman and grab the rocket launcher. It only has a few shots left in it, but one will be enough to take down the boat.
More support will arrive and will help you take down the enemy. If you still have rockets left in the tank, use them to destroy the enemy machine gun nests. Even if you don't manage to take it out yourself, your allies will eventually sort out the problem.
Follow Swift into the tunnels below and he will soon be murdered. Take out the guards ahead and follow Reznov deeper through the cave.
Your hand gun is very strong, able to blow off enemy limbs in only a single shot. Kill every enemy along the way and you'll soon come to the hidden Russian base. After a brief scene, climb out of the cave and use the on screen commands to dig to the outside.
You'll be driving a boat and will have full control of the machine guns. You can also order Bowman and Woods to fire off their rocket launchers, though it takes them some time to reload.
The main targets you want to take out include enemy guard towers and vehicles. They not only include those on the land, but also heavily armed boats. Like your own body, the boat will recover health over time, so pull out of battle and allow time for repairs before engaging the next target.
Proceed down the hill and kill off even more generic dudes with cheesy rifles. Several of them will attempt to run right in your face, making them simple picks for close range attacks.
There are even enemy snipers placed in the roof. Gun them down with your iron sights or they may reprise with some murderous head shots of their own. Finally move into the crashed plane and steal a China Lake grenade launcher.
Your new gizmo will be useful for taking down enemy snipers that are far off in the trees. Also consider grabbing the sniper rifle to further hunt down the Soviet forces.
For this mission you will switch between Hudson's ground squad and a spy plane that will help support the unit. While in the plane, single the ground troops to a safe house. Returning back as Hudson, the Russian forces will attack with Flashbangs and other means of deadly force. Allow Weaver to help you out and cream the enemies.
You'll be back in the pilot seat and will be able to order your team across the backlines. Spot to order them to kill the enemies up the hill and move to the next point. When a huge mass of enemies approach, order the troops to dig into the ground. Once the area is clear, order your men to enter barracks.
Take down the enemies and arm up a bomb. Destroy the stronghold and move to the next area. Repel down the building and be sure to break and avoid falling to your death.
Now, bust through the windows and kill off the enemies inside while the game chugs down. Sneak behind the next set of enemies and kill them off with silent head shots.
You will come to the main base and the guards will be none the wiser. You have some options, including sneaking by or getting in some quick melee or sniper kills. Shoot out the doors to the main building and enter the insides.
Shoot down the enemies on the lower levels and move down. Find the radar dish controls and blow a hole in them, disabling them forever.
An avalanche will start up and you'll need to get away. Run an absurd distance and jump off the side ledges. Use the buttons on screen to deploy your parachute and land safely.
Finally, you'll be attacked by one last swarm of enemies. You only have a small amount of time, so use your grenades to break up the enemies fast. Dash to the truck outside and let Weaver stroll you to the end of the mission.
After Bowman's brutal murder, grab the gun on the table and start shooting everyone. Woods will give you some support and point you to some new weapons.
You should split up with Woods and take the other paths. This will lead to huge caches of a mixed variety of weapons, from submachine guns, shotguns and rifles. You'll come to a helicopter that the two of you will steal.
Take out the ground forces and several enemy choppers will come on your tail. Use your missiles to shoot them down before they can deal too much damage. Remember, just like the boat in previous levels, the helicopter will self-repair after short amounts of time.
You'll come across more missile patches that will require you to take extra care. Destroy more helicopters and you'll now land. Shoot the guards outside and enter the damp dark cave.
Free Reznov from his black box and charge forth towards the enemy leader. Be sure to pick up the AK47 with a flamethrower and burn down the onslaught of soldiers.
Move into the last room and press the buttons that appear on screen. Eventually, Woods will come to your aid and finish things off.
During the start of the mission you'll only have access to a simple hatchet. You will need to sneak behind enemies and keep from being spotted by guards and search lights. When Reznov gives the signal, kill the unsuspecting guard and steal his gun.
Advance up the top of the building and press the button on screen to throw the guard down.
Enter inside the building and use your gun to kill a few guards below before they realize you are around. You'll be swarmed by enemies, but your gun and grenades are great for taking down every foe around you.
You'll be in Hudson's point of view for the next part of the mission. At first you'll be in a powerful vehicle, so use its heavy missiles to blast down the enemy. Next, you'll be exposed to the deadly Nova 6 Gas. Every time you are hit, your gas mask will start to break and cannot be repaired. If you breathe in the gas, you will instantly die.
The one safety is that your mask will repair if you completely die and respawn fro ma checkpoint. Hudson's gun has a great scope that will show enemies in night vision. This will be a great asset as it can be hard to see in the gas. Next, steal a rocket launcher and blast the two helicopters from the sky. You need to get a clean lock on and can't freely fire.
Upon clearing the gas, move to the small building below. This is a great sniping spot to kill anything that advances on you. Some will try to charge through the door on the left, but can be dealt with a fast melee attack.
Move into the last building and stay prone to get some easy shots in. Even in the clear, your scope is a great means for taking down enemies.
Retrace Mason's steps and clean up any soldiers and reinforcements that arrive on the scene. Keep following Weaver and you'll track down Mason. Press the buttons on screen to take down Mason once and for all.
During the start of the mission you'll be taking control of a chopper. Guide it around and take out the various targets that Hudson points out to you. Eventually an enemy chopper will appear, and you'll need to blast it out of the sky with your missiles.
Even if you manage to win the fight, the enemy chopper will do a brutal amount of damage to you--much more than you can repair--as you come crashing down, aim for the ship's helipad so you can make some what of a landing.
Now on the ground, the first wave on enemies and grab the dropped rocket launcher. Use this to lock on and destroy two more helicopters that emerge before moving deeper across the ship.
Inside, follow Hudson and kill anything that gets in front of you. Hudson and Weaver will give you great support but you'll still need to help support them and get in your own kills.
Swim up the next area and arm yourself with the guns in the room. You may be hurting for ammo after the last section, so a fresh weapon will help out oodles.
Kill more guards and be sure to steal their items if you are running low. Be sure to move to rooms and around corners carefully, as the guards will try to get the jump on you or even charge with melee hits.
Move up the last ladder and out of the flooded areas and you'll soon come to the big bad main enemy.
Follow the quick time event to kill the last boss and follow Hudson. Swim to the surface and watch the ending of Call of Duty Black Ops. Stick around after the ending as you'll gain a new Zombies mode for multiplayer.
