Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Gets First-Ever "Double Double" XP Weekend
This weekend is a good time to level up.
Double XP weekend events for Call of Duty: Black Ops III are nothing new. But this weekend, Activision is shaking things up by offering the first-ever "double double" XP event, during which you can earn double XP for your character and your weapons. Historically, it's been one or the other. Now, it's both.
This started today at 10 AM PST and runs through Tuesday, February 16 at the same time.
That's a pretty liberal interpretation of "weekend," but it probably has something to do with the US President's Day holiday this coming Monday.
In other Black Ops III news, Treyarch has updated one of the game's multiplayer maps with a tribute to NFL running back Marshawn Lynch, who retired from football earlier this week.
Additionally, Black Ops III was the best-selling physical game in the US for January 2016. It was also the top-selling game for November 2015, December 2015, and all of 2015. The next game in the series, a new title from Infinity Ward, is due out this year--it is not expected to generate as much revenue as Black Ops III.
