Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare gets three new screenshots -- What do you think?

Sledgehammer Games releases first images of upcoming shooter.

Developer Sledgehammer Games today released three new images for its just-announced Call of Duty game, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. Sledgehammer shared the images through its Facebook page.

The images show off some of the characters (complete with ability-boosting exoskeletons), environments, and weapons that you can expect when the full game launches on November 4. Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will also include some form of energy-based weapons, but we don't see those here.

You'll notice that the hat-wearing soldier has the name "Atlas" written across his suit. That's short for the the fictional Atlas Corporation, whose leader is Jonathan Irons, played by actor Kevin Spacey in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.

Activision planned to announce Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare on Sunday, but their reveal was moved up to today, when we saw the game's first trailer, learned some vague story details, and got confirmation that the game's DLC will arrive first on Xbox platforms.

We're still waiting to hear what platforms the game is coming to, though retailers have listed it for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PC.

People saying all these are bullshots but if you actually took a close look at the trailer which supposedly ran on the xbox one you will notice that the 3rd pic looks identical to the trailer..

Why is this being released on the 360 and ps3? Last I read this was going to be running on a new engine and only being developed for next (current) gen hardware.

I think I need to see some gameplay, so I can start calling it a titanfall rip-off.

I think it looks pretty darn good. I'm not ashamed to admit that I enjoy Call of Duty, either. I even like Ghosts due to the "squads" mode that lets me enjoy the multiplayer game modes without having to deal with the less than sportsmanlike general user base.

Looking forward to Advanced Warfare.

I think this looks freaking amazing!  To hell with 1080P over 720P... if the game delivers more on the One than on any other console, guess which one I'll pick?   If they stick to their guns and make the single player mode fun again, what difference does it make?

people in the comment say cod is boring its the same copy and paste as the previous.tell me what do yall play. because all multiplayer games are going to be like that just with a little flavor on the next one. i bet all of yall who complain about cod i bet you all play a madden or nba or any sports game you prefer every year which is the same every year  just with an updated roster. people hate call of duty because either they suck at it or because they like battlefield and battlefield will always come in second compared to cod.

And another thing if cod is just copying and pasting game after game you know what people in the comments are doing the same thing. people are just repeating what the last person said. you hate on cod because the masses hate on cod. i see people hate on cod and they said i have never played cod but i still hate it what type of shit is that. people just follow the leader online can't be their own person.

i think people need to start realizing that screenshots of anything other than gameplay means nothing!! The first part of a game that draws people in is the graphics, cod has always failed in this area since modern warfare 2. Next is the gameplay but hopefully we will see that tomorrow. So far looking at all of the cod games since mw2 has anything been much different? no. What we know already is that this game has poor graphics and the same boring, pingy dull gameplay that we see every year. We know this because this is what they have taught us.

As a blood donor for several years I'm quite jealous of that guy in the first pic with his back turned to us. He has really visible blood veins, so many to choose from when deciding where to insert the needle.

The graphics looks rather nice, but screenshots are just stills, they can always be made to look prettier than the actual game when it's running.

amazing graphics this time ..I hope all that future tech will be included in multiplayer . If that happened i will forget about battlefield and titanfall . Also congrats to sledghammer for creating the most realistic in-game human-rendering in gaming history.

What do I think? I think the consoles won't be able to run it that well IF it actually looks that good.

That being said, I haven't been a fan since MW2 and I don't think this will change that... but damn, those screenshots look good (if they are legit). Also, exoskeletons? Awesome.

Not interested in Advanced Warfare.  Why not make a Black Ops 3, in a historical setting?

Is anybody else amazed at the amount of comments, both good and bad, about the gameplay of this game, based on a few screenshots (likely cutscenes)? Until you've seen the game or played it yourself, how can you assume a game is going to be good or bad? Recycled content? Then don't play it. Like the game? Play it. What is the point in commenting at this stage? "Because I must let the world know how I feel about video games, to show off how cool/popular/intelligent/sophisticated/cultured/different/right I am and how everyone else is wrong!" (Hint: Nobody really cares.)

What duty are they being called to? Halo War?!?!

Many people are bitching simply because the game is named Call of Duty. You know I wasn't a fan of Black Ops 1 or 2 hell not even Ghosts. But I will give credit to Sledgehammer for trying to take the game in a new direction. I won't say it's gonna be a good Call of Duty or bad until I see gameplay and see if they have fixed some of the issues

A suit that gives you super jump and cloaking.. Now where have I seen that before? Oh yeah, it was in Crysis back in 2007. Plus that exosuit design is taken right out of Elysium.

@poopoohed It is the same (modified) engine since CoD3(which is basically a modified version of id tech 3(Quake 3) engine).

@marcusi23  In my mind, CoD sucks because it became more and more unpolished as the games were released. I loved the first CoD and pretty much any CoD that came out that Infinity Ward made. But then, Activision saw a cash cow and had to milk the thing dry and got rid of the developers that made CoD the best game out there in which they are now known as Respawn Entertainment. CoD became dull and boring to me. If it isn't to you then that's fine and I hope they do get better, but CoD doesn't progress anymore like it used to and leaves a stale kind of taste in my mouth.

@marcusi23 not sure if trolling, or if never heard of any games besides call of duty, battlefield, madden, nba, or any sports games

@marcusi23  I actually LIKED the last COD.  Didn't care too much for the dog missions, but nobody did.  At least they TRIED to give a taste of something new... didn't work completely but at least it was there. ~_^ I have a lot of faith that Sledgehammer can set COD on the right path again.  Modern Warfare was great and I think this what the One needs to bring itself out of the cellar.

@marcusi23  I just liked to see the illustrious Kevin Spacey narrating it!  ^_^  Fresh off his House of Cards season finale I might add.

@dazevanz THIS. And with E3 upcoming, everyone will be drooling over video shots of pre rendered graphical movies with no gameplay and camera angles that wont be in the game designed to make it look far more exciting than it will be. Anything short of live gameplay is not a preview.

dazevanz
dazevanz

@linkinbrother  Are you crazy? 'amazing graphics this time'??? How do you know this? Do you really think the game will have graphics like these images? Are you insane? These look better than any other graphics to date yet cod is bringing them? Again, are you insane? You need to realize these are pictures, nothing more.

@shinjuki In reality energy weapons are mostly a non-starter. It costs too much, has too long a "warm up" time before fire, has a shitty rate of fire and battery technology doesn't even approach the practical needs of such devices. Sorry, but the future is as boring as the present. Practicality will always win out in these matters. Lead in the air just works.

@MrJskilet I won't lie, I have a passionate hate for Call of Duty, but that trailer was so good that I'm at least going to give it a further look into without the thought 'let's see how shit it is now' on my mind.

xantufrog

@MrJskiletI agree. This game may or may not be good, but it doesn't look like total crap to me.

Personally, I just don't have the stomach any more for MP FPS games. I used to be into Halo 1+2, and before that Quake, UT, and CS. But the point is I just don't give a damn about fragfests any more.

This game: Is it derived from other stuff? Sure! But so is Titanfall - I don't care what anyone says, there isn't anything truly new in that game. It's just whether the developer does something fun and compelling with the mechanics they do employ.

@chaos-06  The exosuit design is taken from real exosuit designs. That is what the (highly experimental) ones the military are working with right now look like. The reason you recognize it is because the design was taken from that source by other media.
Also, Crysis 2 was at best a middling game gameplay wise. If they pull off the power stuff of Crysis with better gameplay and a more bombastic single player (especially if it manages to be anywhere near as interesting as Blops 2) sounds fine to me.

You just sound like another butthurt sheep person who has been programmed to hate Call of Duty and I'm sure you'll continue to make assumptions about the game well beyond when they actually put any meaningful content out on the game.

@JaiGuru @dazevanz  Let's just hope they show MORE than multiplayer instances of the game.  I hate it when all they show are parts of a game only the online gamers want to see and nothing of what the main campaign players want to see.

@dazevanz @linkinbrother  Nope these are perfectly fine images of ingame. They may be set up with motion blur and depth of field but its well within there new engine and other current engines. Probably taken from PC.

@dazevanz  Correct which is probably an standard ingame cut scene as Call of Duty has never been renown for doing either enhanced ingame cut scenes or full blown cinematic cut scenes.
