A great deal on some of the 3DS’ best games includes Kirby Triple Deluxe and Tomodachi Life as well.

If you’re looking to expand your Nintendo 3DS game collection you should check out Best Buy’s deals this week. The big-box retailer is currently offering a buy one, get one free deal on the following 3DS games (click on the links to find GameSpot’s reviews):

If you don’t already own a 3DS, the Best Buy sale is also offering the 3DS XL with a pre-installed copy of Mario & Luigi: Dream Team for $169.99, down from the regular price of $199.99.

The sale is also offering discounts on a few Wii U accessories. It starts today, July 20, and will run until July 26. You can pick up the games at your local store or order them from Best Buy’s website.

I wouldn't call it a "gimmick" - all advertised specials are inherently intended to get you in the store (Hello, Marketing 101).  I was able to get the 3DS, both Pokemon X and Y, Bravely Default and Zelda without any trouble.  Later in the week, I went to Walmart with the ad and asked them to match the deal, and they did.  I purchased a second set of Pokemon X and Y (Buy one get one free) at Walmart, $40 total plus tax.  A nice deal overall!

This deal smells very much like gimmick.  I just the website and you couldnt buy those games on line you had to have them shipped to a store.  I tried that but no Best Buy within 200 miles of me after more checking didn't even have the games.  I went to into the store today thinking maybe the site was hiding what the stores had.  Walked into best buy and not one of those games were there.  I bet best buy just made this deal without ordering any more product just to get people in the store.

Wal-Mart will honor the deal if Best Buy is a local retailer. They may try to be dumb and fight it but it's on their website they match buy 1 get 1 free deals with specified price. Just bring in the best buy ad, otherwise they may try to call BB and deny if it’s out of stock, but they didn't for me.

Wal-Mart seems to be the only retailer who usually doesn't care if it's in stock or not at the store the ad originated from.

I am sad and underestimated how many people wanted tomodachi life. In just one day, there is no more games in stock nor can I order it online. T__T I was planning on getting that and Mario Party(I own the rest)

I was at my local best buy at 10:00 am when they opened and they only had 2 of each game. I was able to pick up zelda and yoshi but wth is up with a buy one get one free for almost a week if your not going to have enough in stock to even offer it to more then a couple people. I am glad I was able to get these yesterday or I would be SOL it looks like..

Was interested in getting Kirby Tiriple Delux and New Yoshi's Island. Great I can buy both for the price of one. Now just need to find a store around here... :L

Yes Best Buy is having a great sale on stuff they do not have in stock online or at any of the stores in my state. I'm curious why they don't have it online at all.

I just saw this news on website name is che*p***g*mer, this website release out very faster than here (GameSpot) and other websites.

I ordered two games (Mario party and Mario golf) and Wii remote. I can't believe Yoshi 3DS and Kirby shipping is closed so fast! Shame on people. LOL.

People are crazy and wild!!!

Just went to best buys website and you can't order any of those games online, you have to do store pick up.  I tried that and none of those games are available at any best buy within 100 miles lol.

How is this news? This deal has been going on for at least a week if not 2. What is tomorrow's gamestop headline, World War II ends?

What tip are we going to get next, Gold Discovered in California...............160 years ago, better strike while the iron is hot.

Better go fast if you want to get in on this deal.  I stopped by earlier this morning and almost everything was gone.  I did pick up Tomodachi Life, which I wanted anyway, but had to settle for Mario Party instead of Kirby.  Kirby, Zelda, Bravely Default, and Mario Golf were all out of stock in the 5 Best Buys within a 50 mile radius of me.

US only, right? Here in Canada we get this: "Save $10 when you purchase any 2 Nintendo 3DS games"... ugh.

Might actually pick up Yoshi's New Island and so I can score a free copy of Kirbys Triple Deluxe!

@toddx77 It does seem weird. There's no stores within hundreds of miles of me with these games either. Perhaps Tuesday's shipment will change things?

@toddx77 I had the same exact problem when I tried today. I guess Best Buy won't be receiving my $40.00 after all.

Maaaan, you crazy. Future Shop has had WAY more great deals than Best Buy in the US

Like that one from last year where they let people trade in any game for AC4, BF4, or CoD Ghosts

@Tigerbite2 Fire Emblem was $15 last winter at numerous places. Picked it and Wii U's Luigi U for that price...

@fig56  eh if theres no games you know off the top of your head that you want more than the pro controller, go with the controller. You wont be sorry.

toddx77
toddx77

@sugarboy79 Maybe, couldn't hurt to check, but I wouldn;t be surprised if they only ordered like 5 for each store.

toddx77

@elektrolysis Mine either.  I almost bought Attack on Titan part 1 on blu ray since it was $25 but than I said "no I will just wait until rightstuf has a sale" lol

@kyrosfatale @Cheezy200 Bring Best Buy's weekly paper ad to Walmart and go to costumer service to verify they will honor it. Obviously make sure the games are on stock before hand via the website. The guy at the electronics section was useless for me saying they don't do ad match, but can be seen here:

http://corporate.walmart.com/ad-match-guarantee

The costumer service person should know otherwise and ask for the ad (they also have their own supply of local retailer paper ads). You'll end up going back to electronics and bringing the employee there all the way to the costumer service desk so you don't run out of the store with the two games but yeah. I got both Pokemon X and Bravery Default paying only $39.99 for both instead of $80 at Walmart.

@battousai611 @Tigerbite2 Yeah, I was using the 30 day free trial of gamefly at that time and thought I was going to beat it, but I hit a road block and ended up having to start over.  >_<

Best I've seen since then is $30 :|

@danusty @toddx77 Bravely Default, and Zelda aren't available in the state of New Hampshire.  They do have a great deal on the Mario and Luigi 3dsXL bundle (169) though.

runeg2

@Cheezy200 I went to my local Walmart stores, and they did not honor the ad at all. They were really nitpicking the ad saying that it needed a specific price for all of the items on the page, and were also saying that they do not ad match games as well. Should I have just not bring in the ad and have them do the leg work in verifying the sale?

Cheezy200
Cheezy200

@runeg2 @Cheezy200 I don't know what to say. The ad match guarantee does not specify games, it is for everything.  If they said that I would bring it up with the manager. Always try a different walmart or another time for a different costumer service employee

Specified price doesn't have to be specific to each product but to the group of products being advertised, as that would be absurd to expect if it was listing dozens of products like bluerays.  $29.99-$39.99 was displayed and thats what mattered.

A specified price does not need to be an exact figure. A supplier can specify a price by referring to a formula, a range of prices, a document containing prices, or a price list.

If they still put up a fight, I would have told them to verify the price using the best buy website. I brought in a printed ad but they didn't believe it because it didn't have any dates, so they want and got it themselves and I didn't have any issues.

A friend of mine who worked at walmart retail told me if you screamed loud enough they would cave even if you were wrong just to shut you up lol. I didn't do that but I outlined the details and didn't back down because I knew I was right. Sorry to hear about your troubles. I wouldn't back down though. They are full of it. Tell them their ad-match states Everything applies if there is an ad from another store that does it, and specified price includes range of prices for products.
