Microsoft today announced that it is relocating its first-party developer, and Halo 2 creator, Bungie from Redmond to nearby Kirkland. Bungie will move into one of the town's oldest office spaces, the former locale of the Kirkland Hardware Store. It's a fitting destination given the renaissance that Kirkland is undergoing. The now tech-savvy suburb of Seattle, with a population of nearly 50,000, is also home to fellow game developers Monolith, Gas Powered Games, and Rad Game Tools.
