Brutal Legend DLC part deux due Dec. 17

Double Fine's action adventure expands with four new multiplayer maps, host of customization options later this month; pack will be cheaper on PS3.

In November, Double Fine rolled out its first batch of downloadable content for Brutal Legend. A multiplayer-oriented add-on, Tears of the Hextadon added two new maps to the game's Stage Battle multiplayer mode, which plays out as a real-time strategy game. Today, EA and Double Fine announced the second round of DLC, titled Hammer of Infinite Fate, will arrive for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on December 17.

A substantially larger add-on than the first, Hammer of Infinite Fate offers four new Stage Battle maps, as well as a host of new customization options for protagonist Eddie Riggs and his hotrod, The Deuce. While the Jack Black-voiced protagonist will see only cosmetic options, the upgrades for Riggs' ride include the Oculus of the Lost, which serves as an in-game GPS, as well as the Eye of Sorrow weapon, which launches "black projectiles of doom."

Lightning bolts can't help but follow Eddie Riggs around.

The DLC also opens up six more heads to add to Mount Rockmore--an in-game counterpoint to South Dakota's Mount Rushmore--including Rima, Razputin, Dadbat, Hunter, Kage the Kannonier, and Double Fine studio head Tim Schafer. Gamers will also be able to acquire nine new achievements/trophies.

With the first expansion pack, EA gave the PS3 edition away for two weeks, before offering it at the same $5 price point as the Xbox 360 version. The publisher also appears to be cutting PS3 gamers a deal with the Hammer of Infinite Fate pack. Xbox 360 gamers can pick up the pack for MSP480 ($6), while the PS3 edition will be available for $4.99.

@DanteDelacoix Didn't you know? Crying and complaining about stupid crap is what 90% of the Gamespot community does best. No one is ever satisfied with constant complaints of "this should be free" and "why wasn't this in on day one". Truth be told for the most part I completely ignore the comments section because nothing constructive comes out of it. Even when people with constructive comments leave something it is quickly drowned out by the whiners.

extra content is always good.

You know what is needed, for all those whiners to shut up......jesus christ. The DLC is optional, you dont need to get it. I would buy it as i still have to do the game on brutal mode and extra trophies is always nice. But in summary, too many people are moaning over something trivial. If you dont want it then dont get it, simple as that, go cry into your pillow

not buying 'til they fix the online mode, i really loved the game, but i think this ain't cool, the gps system for the deuce was a day one and FREE thing the game need, i don't care the others things, because i already finished the one player campaign, either way, i cannot get a lot of trophies because the online mode sucks, and sucks very bad, if you are lucky enough to engage with someone it will fall the conection instantly...

I have bought this game on day one, but I must say I am very disappointed with the final product. Therefore, I doubt I will be getting any of the DLC. I found my self very confused as to where to go, and what else was next to do. I think that there are much better games that are out, and we all should let this one sink. Tim Shafer or not this game sucks.

I'd rather see the single player mode be expanded then maps for the online battle of the bands. I didn't like the online mode to be honest they need to add other modes I hope Double Fine do something about it.

Seems like all the people doing internships @ double fine had to do this while everbody else laid back...incredibly lame! More Mount Rockmore heads? More like Mount Rip-Off!

I download virtually any DLC that's free in the event it may go up or I might want it later. "New DLC is always a good thing" and FREE DLC is even better. LOL

Technically the Drowning Doom are a faction made up of Zombies, so I don't see the point of add more.... now.... Pirates! Where are my Pirates?

I have to pay $6USD to get an ingame GPS which should have been in the game in the first place, and was quite possibly on the retail disc?! Piss off. I'll trade this game in the next chance I get. First playthrough was quite cool, otherwise it is a paperweight to me.

Yeah well, anything Brutal Legend is welcome, but those mount rockmore heads are literally useless. It's not even funny or anything. As for the upgrades, yeah, sure, but Double Fine should definitly expand the single player with either; - New quests or/and - '' Conquest '' mode that allows you to replay stage battles, or new ones, INSIDE the SP mode with all your upgrades and such.

"Oculus of the Lost". Haha, I love it. @Darkmoone1: I would love to see a story mode expansion, sort of along the lines of what GTA 4 and Oblivion have done. Maybe add a new island to explore, or something like that. I'm just not a fan of the multiplayer, and I've already done and found everything there is to do and find in the game, so it would be nice to have some new missions or something.

Darkmoone1

How about some stroy mode expansion??? Also you Fanboys should know that its only a VERY small difference. Don't go startin another flamewar over nothing. :)

I am still dumbfounded at how they aren't expanding the story at all. It's the only part of the story that I found enjoyable.

Glad to see support for Brutal Legend. I rented it, beat it, and yet I want to go through the story again. It's an excellent game.

Nice! Thanks for showing some love to us PS3 owners, Double Fine and supporting the game altogether! :D I'll definitely get this -- to be honest, as much as I love metal and Schafer, I might've not paid 5 bucks for the last add-on, but this one packs just the content I've been wishing for. Ka-ching! PSN is getting flooded with all the excellent DLC and games coming out in December; Blue Toad Murder Files, PixelJunk Shooter, the list goes on and on.:P

Seems that EA it's starting shift support more towards the PS3, cheap Brutal Legend DLC for the PS3, Dante's Inferno demo coming out first for the PS3(Dec 10th), BFBC 2 beta first on the PS3 while the xbox 360 is getting everything last.
