BreakAway's Big Break

The demise of OT Sports has led to the creation of a new company. Doug Whatley, who has served as executive producer of ABC's Monday Night Football series, director of product development for OT Sports, and sports producer for MicroProse Software, has announced the formation of his own company - BreakAway Games.

Moving with him to BreakAway Games are what Whatley calls " the key developers responsible for ... ABC's Monday Night Football 98, ABC Sports College Football: Heroes of the Gridiron, and ABC Sports: Indy Racing League."

BreakAway Games will focus on creating high-end sports games for both PCs and console machines, the company said in a release. They are pursuing negotiations with publishers and "expect to announce more detailed plans shortly."
